Participants who complete the course will receive 7.0 ICC CEU’s.

This class will teach participants to confidently navigate NFPA 855. It will provide the ‘why’ behind many of the code requirements and provide context for risk and mitigation measures. This course is targeted for AHJ’s, engineers (all types), contractors and energy storage system manufacturers and integrators. The course will provide a deep dive into topics such as:

  • UL 9540, UL 9540A, UL 1973
  • Explosion control
  • Fire suppression, detection and barriers
  • Hazard mitigation analysis
  • ESS siting and clearances
  • Battery collection and storage
  • Battery management systems
  • Overall design/installation
  • Emergency preparedness
  • Residential units
  • Battery basics
  • Related standards (IFC, NFPA 13/68/69/72)
