This course is being hosted by the Solano/Napa ECT and is free to contributors.  There is a $100 fee for non-contributors.  The Solano/Napa ECT will invoice non-contributors upon registration.

About this Course:  This training empowers participants with a rich toolkit of strategies, emphasizing active listening and reflective listening, empathy, word choice, tone and nonverbal cues.  By addressing communication pitfalls and fostering trust and psychological safety, it creates an atmosphere where team members collaborate seamlessly and elevate collective performance.

At its core, this training aims to enhance communication, recognizing its crucial role in relationships and successful teamwork.  It equips attendees with means to address challenges, fostering engagement and clarity in messages.  This emphasis on effective communication extends beyond words, encompassing nonverbal cues and body language.  Ultimately, the training’s goal is to create an environment where the sum is greater than its parts, where teams thrive and perform at their best. This curriculum will incorporate:

  • Understanding the impact of effective team communication;
  • Assessing current communication patterns;
  • Enhancing active listening and reflective listening skills;
  • Developing empathy;
  • Understanding different communication styles;
  • How to make your message clear, concise and understood;
  • Three ways to deliver constructive feedback;
  • How to receive feedback;
  • Conflict resolution solutions that work.

Eric Herdman is an accomplished speaker, business leader, and facilitator, who has been speaking professionally in-person for almost three decades and a s a virtual presenter for nearly five years.  He draws from his experiences as a small business owner and competitive ultra-endurance athlete to entertain, inform, educate and engage audiences into action.

Eric works with a variety of clients, from government agencies and multibillion-dollar pharmaceutical companies to top financial institutions and national associations.  He has published multiple books, most recently Time Energy Focus and The Power of Communication.
